Grammer Editing

Proofreading Services

What is proofreading and why do you need it?

Proofreading is the quality control stage of editing, where your project is put under a microscope and any errors that have been overlooked in the editing process will be taken out.

So, why do you need a proofreader?

First impressions count. Your business can have a professional-looking website and logo, but if a potential client spots a spelling mistake on your website or flyer, they will most likely take their business elsewhere. If you are publishing your book without having someone proofread it for you, there is a good chance that you will receive negative reviews.

Often as a writer, you are too close to your project. You know the message you are trying to get across and therefore don't see any inconsistencies. A proofreader will look at your work with a fresh pair of eyes and is trained to spot those easy-to-miss errors and advise you appropriately.

I will check your work for grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistakes so that you can publish it without having to worry about any of the above.

I hear you thinking: "doesn't my spell checker do this for me?"
The answer is: yes it does, to some extent. Spell checkers and grammar checkers are great tools to get the bulk of the errors out. However, since they cannot read the context, certain errors are overlooked. This is where the proofreader saves the day.
